Paramount ruler of Kagoro in Kaura Local Council of Southern Kaduna, Dr. Ufuwai Bonet, has urged indigenes of the various communities to embark on prayers against killings and other forms of attack by terrorists, as the bandits have vowed to visit the area again, The Guardian.

Bonet told sons and daughters of Southern Kaduna, who came for the yearly Afan Festival, which was turned to Prayer Summit, that there was need to pray against attacks and killings by terrorists as well as end banditry in the state.

Following fresh attacks on the December 18, 2022 by terrorists in Kagoro Chiefdom, the popular Afan festival, which normally ushers in the New Year, was replaced with an interfaith prayer summit with the theme, ‘Looking up to God in Times of Trouble’.

Terrorists had on December 18 attacked Malagum 1 and Sokong communities in the local council and killed 40 persons, vowing to strike again to kill more people in the area.

However, the Prayer Summit, which was organised in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation, Global Peace Foundation – Nigeria, was to pray for the land and her people, including those killed during the attacks, as well as an end to the barbaric attacks.

Speaking earlier at his palace, Bonet said his people live in fear, as the attackers have promised to invade their communities again.

He expressed worry about the motives of the attackers, even as he let his doors open for dialogue, instead of aggrieved persons taking the law into their hands.
