Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State issued a firm warning on Friday, urging his predecessors, including Chief Samuel Ortom, to refrain from meddling in his administration. He asserted that he would not tolerate any attempts to destabilize his government,Daily Trust reports.

Ortom, during his 63rd birthday anniversary celebration, advised Governor Alia to resolve conflicts with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, for the state’s development.

In response, Governor Alia, upon his return from the USA, emphasized that he would not allow anyone, whether a former governor or civil servant, to disrupt his administration. He emphasized that past governors had their terms and should allow the current administration to function without interference.

Alia stressed the importance of constructive criticism but cautioned against spreading misinformation. He highlighted his recent participation in discussions with the USA Peace Institute alongside nine other Northern Governors to address regional insecurity and prioritize the return of displaced persons to their homes.

Additionally, Governor Alia emphasized efforts to improve the state’s image nationally and promote peace and agricultural activities in various regions. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and not succumb to pressures that could compromise their loyalty to the state.
