The Court of Appeal’s decision nullifying the election of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and other People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members in the National Assembly has sparked ongoing protests. Leading the demonstration in Jos, alongside various support groups, including non-indigenous communities, John Mark, the youth leader of the PDP in Plateau North, declared that the people of Plateau State outrightly rejected the judgment of the Appeal Court, leadership reports.

Mark emphasized that the verdict goes against logic, factual evidence presented in court, and the relevant Electoral Laws, Guidelines, and Regulations, as well as established precedents in similar cases raised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their candidates in the matter.

He asserted that the people of Plateau State authentically entrusted their mandate to the PDP candidates, aiming for substantial state development. Mark insisted that any attempt to alter the people’s desires, contrary to the resounding mandate they granted, would not be tolerated.
