On Tuesday, the Kano State Police Command announced the apprehension of 15 suspects and the recovery of 20 stolen vehicles across various locations in the state. The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, conveyed this information in a statement issued in Kano,leadership reports.

The arrests and vehicle recoveries were attributed to the unwavering dedication of the police command to eradicate all forms of criminal activities in the state. Kiyawa emphasized the command’s firm commitment to addressing motor vehicle theft and other criminal acts within its jurisdiction.

He stated, “In the last one month, the police command consistently demonstrated its commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and properties of all residents of the state.” This commitment aligns with the directives and vision of I-G Egbetokun, urging police commands to implement community-based policing, intelligence-led policing, and professional competence for effective service delivery.

Kiyawa elaborated on the proactive measures taken by the state police, including crackdown operations resulting in the arrest of 15 suspected motor vehicle thieves and the recovery of 20 exhibit vehicles.

Commissioner of Police Usaini Gumel expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding, cooperation, and support. He reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining high standards and encouraged citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities, individuals, or items to the nearest police station for swift security action.
