Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management (HMB) Board, has authorized the immediate suspension of a medical doctor at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, following allegations of leaving patients unattended,Daily Trust reports.

This action was prompted by complaints lodged by both patients and staff, reporting that the doctor departed the facility without notifying hospital management.

Despite numerous attempts to reach her, she allegedly insisted she was present at the hospital, yet failed to appear, leaving a dialysis patient in distressing circumstances.

Dr. Nagoda emphasized that the suspension of the medical officer would remain in effect pending the conclusion of the investigation.

He underscored the necessity of maintaining vigilant supervision, expecting all staff listed on duty rosters to fulfill their responsibilities diligently. Those found negligent, he warned, would bear the consequences.

Highlighting the paramount importance of the medical profession’s commitment to preserving lives, Dr. Nagoda urged doctors to redouble their dedication.

He reiterated that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had sanctioned allowances for medical practitioners to enhance the quality of healthcare services.
