Allegedly, three students were reportedly shot during an operation conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Federal College of Forestry of Nigeria (FCFN) in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they were making arrests of suspects,leadership report.

According to an inside source, EFCC personnel initially entered the school premises and held a meeting with the institute’s management before proceeding with the arrests. Tensions flared when the anti-corruption agency’s officers attempted to make the arrests within the college.

The source revealed, “In a show of solidarity with their fellow students, the college students emerged. While the situation was being addressed by the FCFN administration, a reinforcement team arrived and began firing shots indiscriminately.

Regrettably, three students sustained gunshot injuries and were subsequently transported to the hospital.” This information was provided by an employee of the college.

When reached for comment, the EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, stated that he was in the process of gathering information on the incident and would issue an official statement once he had completed this process. Oyewale assured, “I am actively investigating the matter, and I will provide you with a statement as soon as I have collected all the necessary information.”
