The 2024 Appropriation Bill, passed on Saturday, designates a total sum of N127.8 billion for Senators and members of the House of Representatives. The breakdown reveals that the Senate is allotted N49.144 billion, and the House of Representatives receives N78.624 billion,Daily Trust reports.

Specific allocations include N12.325 billion for the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) and N9.008 billion for the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS). Legislative aides in both chambers are granted N20.388 billion.

The newly constructed National Assembly Library Complex receives N12.123 billion as a Take-Off Grant, with an additional N3 billion earmarked for book purchases. The National Assembly car park projects for the Senate and House of Representatives each receive N3 billion, while N4 billion is allocated for the construction of a ‘Recreation Center’ at the National Assembly.

The National Assembly Hospital project is allocated N15 billion. The completion of the NILDS headquarters is budgeted at N4.5 billion, and the ongoing construction of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) building is allotted N10 billion.
