A hoodlum, yet to be identified, attacked and stabbed 15-year-old herder Yusuf Adamu in the vicinity of TCNN in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau StateDaily Trust report.

The assault occurred on Sunday while Yusuf was tending to his cattle in the TCNN – Bukuru general area, as reported by his elder brother, Dauda Suleiman.

According to Suleiman, the assailants, armed with a knife, attacked the young herder during his cattle-rearing activities. Suleiman recounted, “I was at home when someone told me that my cattle were seen grazing alone and nobody was around them. I rushed to the area and saw the cattle. I searched for Yusuf but couldn’t find him.”

“In the evening, I went back to search for him, and with the assistance of one of the youth leaders in the area, we discovered Yusuf lying down, stabbed with a knife and covered with leaves. I immediately contacted security, and he was swiftly taken to Plateau Hospital. Currently, he is in the ICU, in critical condition.”

Suleiman mentioned that some suspects were apprehended by the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), sector 5, while two others remain at large.

Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi, the state chapter chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), corroborated the incident and urged caution from all parties.

Efforts to obtain comments from Captain Oya James, the spokesman for Operation Safe Haven, were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
