The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, declared an end to the reign of kidnappers in certain areas of the FCT, asserting that informants aiding them have been apprehended. Speaking in pidgin during a town hall meeting in Gwagwalada town on Friday, Wike vowed to pursue both kidnappers and their collaborators,Daily Trust report.

Wike, conveying the president’s directive, emphasized the commitment to protecting lives and property. He warned criminals that their time was up, pledging to follow them relentlessly. The minister disclosed arrests of some informants and issued a stern message to those involved, stating that whether apprehended now or later, their time would come to an end.

Addressing the need for additional police divisions in the council, Wike instructed the police commissioner’s representative to expedite the process, emphasizing the urgency of the matter without bureaucratic delays. He announced the president’s authorization to acquire more vehicles for the police, promising modern communication gadgets to enhance their capabilities.

Wike stressed the president’s directive to eradicate kidnapping in Abuja and called for public support, emphasizing the importance of providing information to aid security agencies. He discouraged the practice of crowdfunding for ransom, highlighting its role in fueling kidnapping activities and urged residents to avoid it.

In conclusion, the minister reiterated the seriousness of the government’s stance on security, affirming their dedication to tackling the issue and ensuring the safety of the FCT.
