Surajo Madawaki, a 50-year-old village head of Gobirawa in Faskari local council, Katsina State, went into hiding after aiding bandits to kill Yahaya Danbai, a villager who confronted and killed a waylaying terrorist, Wikkitimes reports.

According to Katsina Police Command, Danbai was on October 19, attacked by an AK-47-wielding terrorist on his farmland. Fortunately, he killed the bandit and took his AK-47 to Madawaki’s palace. But the latter, instead of “reporting” the matter to the authority, called on a terror leader, Hamisu, and handed over the rifle to him.

In vengeance, Hamisu returned to the village, assembled the locals and fished out the brave farmer, Danbai, before killing him.

He further conditioned the locals to pay N10 million ransom, threatening a mass killing should they refuse to comply.

However, the village head had since gone into hiding following the terrorists’ rampage on his community.

He would later be arrested by a police team, according to Gombe Isah, spokesman for Katsina Police Command.

Now, They Want N10m to Release His Body“On 19/10/2022 at about 0900hrs, a distress call was received that one Yahaya Danbai, ‘M’, aged 35yrs of Gobirawa village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state, was attacked by a suspected terrorist with AK 47 rifle while working in his farmland at the outskirt of the village,” the spokesman said.

“The farmer summoned courage and overpowered his assailant, disarmed him and killed the terrorist.”

Isah added: “Subsequently, the Ward Head, instead of reporting the matter to the Police, then called one Hamisu, a notorious terrorist and leader of the killed terrorist, reported the incident to him and handed over the recovered AK 47 rifle to him.

“Consequently, the terrorists’ gang leader Hamisu, mobilized his gang, surrounded the village, brought out the gallant farmer and killed him instantly.”
