According to Nigeria’s state television, NTA, the Deputy Governor responsible for Financial System Stability at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Aisha Ahmad, has been apprehended by the State Security Service (SSS),Premium Times reports.

Ms. Ahmad’s arrest is reportedly connected to allegations of fraudulent acquisition of shares in Polaris Bank and Titan Bank/Union Bank. Specifically, she is under investigation regarding the sourcing of $300 million to complete the purchase of Union Bank by Titan Bank.
