Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has voiced concern over alleged efforts by influential figures within the state to undermine his administration’s goals. Speaking at the Uhola Festival and Agricultural Show in Zuru, Kebbi State, over the weekend, Governor Idris affirmed his steadfastness in the face of these challenges,Daily Trust reports.

He disclosed how certain individuals from the state had reportedly intervened at the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja to alter the road development plans he had previously submitted. Governor Idris emphasized the urgency of addressing the deteriorating condition of the Koko Dabai Road, which he had prioritized over other projects.

Expressing dismay over the poor state of roads in Zuru, the governor pledged to convene a meeting with prominent personalities from the Zuru Emirate, including traditional rulers, to seek swift resolution to the issue. He proposed engaging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja to address the matter promptly.

Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting and financing the annual Uhola Festival, recognizing its role in fostering cultural advancement for economic prosperity and social cohesion.
