Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed the commitment of the state government to create a conducive business environment in the upcoming year, aiming to bolster the economic prosperity of the region. Speaking at the Sol Beach Oniru, one of the venues for the 72-hour #Greater Lagos Fiesta and New Year countdown in 2024, the governor highlighted the significance of the state’s peaceful atmosphere, making the continuous 72-hour entertainment and countdown festivities possible,Daily Trust reports.

Sanwo-Olu, pleased with the simultaneous celebration at six locations across Lagos, which included Sol Beach Oniru, Agege, Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry, and Ajegunle, described the event as an annual tradition to celebrate music, entertainment, and the lively spirit of Lagos. Emphasizing the importance of supporting and appreciating residents, culture, tourism, and youth development, he, alongside his deputy Dr. Kadri Hamzat and other state executive council members, acknowledged the global tradition of New Year countdowns while highlighting Lagos’s unique simultaneous celebration at multiple locations.

Expressing gratitude for the prevailing peace in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu thanked the attendees and anticipated making the event even grander in the following year. He shared optimism for a prosperous and fulfilling 2024, emphasizing personal and collective growth in various aspects of life.

The 72-hour non-stop entertainment featured performances by comedians and music artists, with over 25 prominent figures, including Tubaba (Innocent Idibia), Davido (David Adeleke), and Kiss Daniel (Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe), entertaining the enthusiastic crowd participating in the countdown to the New Year.
