Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group, has announced a 50 percent salary raise for all staff members, according to an internal memo signed by Mr. Mohammed Wali, BUA’s Head of Human Resources, on Sunday in Lagos,Daily Trust reports.

Rabiu stated in the memo that the salary hike aims to alleviate the economic challenges currently affecting the country. The increment will apply to both permanent and non-permanent staff, effective from February 1, 2024.

“The Human Resources and Finance departments are currently processing the raise to ensure its inclusion in the February 2024 payroll. We trust that this generous gesture will inspire greater dedication to our roles and encourage us to deliver our best,” Rabiu expressed.

Meanwhile, amidst the prevailing economic conditions, negotiations are ongoing between organized labor and the government regarding a new minimum wage.
