Following a longstanding tradition of benevolence, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, representing Zamfara West Senatorial Zone of Zamfara State, has unveiled plans to provide food supplies to 250,000 households during this year’s holy month of Ramadan,leadership reports.

The aim of this initiative is to ease the burden of hunger and ensure that families across Zamfara State can observe the sacred month with a degree of comfort. The program will cover 13 Local Government Areas, with each area receiving 17,500 bags of essential food items such as rice, millet, sugar, and maize. Additionally, the State capital, Gusau local government area, will be allocated 22,500 bags of essential food items.

In a gesture of support for vulnerable members of society, including orphans and women, 10,000 bags of rice, millet, sugar, and maize will be provided to enable them to participate in the blessings of Ramadan without worry. Male orphans will also receive Sallah clothes along with a token of N2,000 each for tailoring, while female orphans will receive fabric with the same token amount for tailoring.

Almansoor Gusau Advocate, the director-general (Media) in Senator Yari’s office, highlighted special provisions across the 14 local government areas and 147 Wards in the state, with 2,970 Internally Displaced Persons also benefiting from the program. This comprehensive effort reflects the Senator’s dedication to uplifting the less privileged and promoting unity and compassion within the community.

The initiative is in alignment with the spirit of Ramadan, which encourages acts of charity, kindness, and solidarity. As preparations for distribution begin, Senator Yari calls upon all stakeholders to support this noble cause and extend a helping hand to those in need.

“Let us come together to make this Ramadan a period of abundance, empathy, and goodwill for all,” stated Gusau.
