Members of the Delta State Police Command reported that they eliminated two individuals suspected of being kidnappers and successfully rescued a kidnapped victim in the state,Daily Trust reports.

According to City & Crime reports, the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, shared this information with journalists in Asaba. Edafe mentioned that the two suspects were pronounced dead at the hospital due to gunshot injuries sustained during a confrontation with the police operatives.

He added that one of the suspects managed to escape with gunshot injuries.

The command’s spokesperson clarified that the deceased were neutralized by operatives from the Ekpan division in a bush located in Ekakpamre community in Ughelli-South Local Government Area. Simultaneously, the kidnapped victim was rescued unharmed.

Edafe detailed the items recovered from the deceased kidnappers, which included the abductee’s vehicle, three firearms (two single barrel and one double barrel guns), along with two expended cartridges.

Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspect who managed to escape.
