A 22-year-old student of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Emmanuel Ujedibe, has been arrested for allegedly killing a commercial sex worker, Peace, in a hotel in Asaba, for stealing his iPhone 11 pro max.

Ujedibe, who was paraded alongside 16 others for various crimes by Delta State Police commissioner, Mr. Ari Mohammed Alli at the weekend, claimed that the victim stole his phone, hence he killed her.

The Political science student allegedly set the hotel room ablaze after killing the girl.

Alli explained that the Police were contacted of the incident, and he ordered operatives at ‘A’ Division Asaba and Anti-kidnapping section to embark on an intelligence-led investigation, during which the victim’s phone that was stolen by the suspect was recovered from the receiver who bought it from the suspect.

The commissioner added that the suspect also masterminded his own kidnapped and has so far extorted the sum of N4 million from his father.

In 2018, A 200 level student of Delta State University, Ndubisi Mowete, has committed suicide after stabbing his girlfriend, Vivian Obioma, to death over minor disagreement.

Ndubisi, a Business Education student of the University, Agbor Campus, was said to have been enraged upon discovering that his lover, Vivian, an indigene of Ogwashi-Uku, in Aniocha Local Government area of Delta State, was allegedly dating another student within the campus.

The State Police Command confirmed the incident.
