The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, has announced that plans are underway to secure political victories in Oyo and Osun states for the party,Daily Trust reports.

Speaking with journalists after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa the winner of the recent Ondo State governorship election, Ganduje expressed his satisfaction with the electorate’s support for the APC.

He described the election as free, fair, and credible, commending INEC, security agencies, the media, and civil society organizations for their roles in ensuring the success of the process.

“This is a moment of joy. Seeing is believing, and this is democracy in action. What is most important is that all major stakeholders agree the election was free, fair, and credible. INEC provided excellent logistics and manpower, while the police, DSS, Civil Defence, military, media, and international observers all played critical roles,” he said.

Ganduje emphasized that the people of Ondo chose continuity by re-electing an APC candidate, ensuring ongoing projects and programs will be sustained. He congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa, describing him as a “sellable candidate” and commended President Bola Tinubu for fostering an enabling environment for a successful election.

Looking ahead, Ganduje declared that the APC’s next focus in the South West geopolitical zone is reclaiming Oyo and Osun states.

“Our next target is Oyo and Osun. We are skilled at achieving our goals, and we will do everything possible to bring them into the APC fold, strengthening our presence in the South West,” he stated.

During a stakeholders’ meeting in Ondo last month, Ganduje had reiterated the party’s commitment to capturing the entire South West region ahead of the 2027 general election. He stressed the strategic importance of Oyo and Osun states in bolstering support for President Tinubu in the region.

“In this geopolitical zone, we must deliver 100 percent for the APC. Ondo State, you must lead the charge. As for Oyo and Osun, we will bring them into the fold, but our strategy remains confidential. Everything must align 100 percent behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ganduje asserted.
