The Defence Headquarters announced that over 100 terrorists were eliminated in airstrikes on the border between Niger and Zamfara states. Major-General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, provided this update in Abuja, sharing battle damage assessment photos from the Nigerian Air Force’s air interdictions. These operations also significantly reduced insurgent activity in other parts of the country,Daily Trust report.

Buba mentioned a surgical operation targeting the residence of an ISWAP terrorist commander in Niger, which led to multiple arrests and discoveries. Additionally, other recent operations by troops resulted in the neutralization of 73 terrorists and the arrest of 182 individuals.

Furthermore, the military arrested 14 suspected oil thieves and rescued 68 hostages in the South-South region, preventing approximately N1.212 billion in illegal activities. The troops also recovered a substantial number of weapons and ammunition, including various firearms, explosives, and ammunition.

In the North East, Operation HADIN KAI troops neutralized 39 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, arrested 22, rescued 18 hostages, and seized a significant cache of arms. In the North Central, troops from Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke neutralized 12 terrorists, arrested 109, rescued 22 kidnapped hostages, and recovered numerous weapons and ammunition.

In the North West, Operation Hadarin Daji troops neutralized 10 terrorists, arrested 11, and rescued 11 hostages, while Operation Whirl Punch troops neutralized three terrorists, arrested 38, and rescued 12 hostages.

The update also covered the Niger Delta region, where troops from Operation Delta Safe destroyed 63 illegal refining sites and recovered stolen products. They discovered and eliminated dugout pits, boats, storage tanks, and more, while recovering large quantities of stolen crude oil and other illicit materials.

In the South East, troops of Operation UDO KA neutralized three terrorists, arrested nine suspected criminals, and rescued three hostages. Recovered items and arrested individuals were handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
