As the Supreme Court withholds its judgment on the appeal regarding the Kano State governorship election, a significant number of members from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State have engaged in a dedicated period of fasting and prayers,Daily Trust reports.

Following a session where a five-member panel of justices, led by Justice Inyang Okoro, reserved judgment after hearing arguments from lawyers on Thursday, Daily Trust reported the majority of NNPP members in Kano State adhering to a call for special fasting and prayers.

On Wednesday, a series of appeals were made to all concerned party members to observe a fast on Thursday as the Supreme Court commenced its session. The majority of members reportedly strictly adhered to this directive.

Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director General of Media and Communications, confirmed the development, stating, “yes, many of our supporters are fasting today.”

Daily Trust noted that even after the Supreme Court hearing, calls for fervent prayers continued on social media platforms. Additionally, observations in the major streets of the state’s metropolitan areas revealed that people were going about their usual activities, creating an atmosphere of calm and peace.

Similarly, the joint committee of security heads was seen patrolling extensively throughout the metropolis to ensure and uphold peace.
