IGP Kayode Egbetokun has praised police officers and personnel from other security agencies for their substantial assistance in ensuring the security of governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States last Saturday. He commended their commitment and diligence, highlighting the effectiveness and commendable nature of their efforts in overseeing the electoral process,leadership reports.
The IGP underscored that the electoral proceedings in the three states unfolded smoothly, surpassing earlier threat assessments and anticipated challenges. He recognized the outstanding contributions of the security personnel in maintaining order, safeguarding the electoral process, and ensuring the well-being of citizens.
In a statement on Tuesday, Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi conveyed the IGP’s acknowledgment of isolated incidents during the elections. The IGP directed electoral offenses desk officers, overseen by the deputy inspector-general of police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, to initiate immediate investigations into these occurrences.

The IGP expressed gratitude to all security agencies involved in election security management, urging officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
