The International Federation on Ageing-Nigeria (IFAN) has commenced partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to deliver health and humanitarian services to rural dwellers through mobile hospitals/clinics,Daily Trust report.

National Coordinator, IFAN, Ike Willie-Nwobu, said the intervention would improve the lives of rural dwellers and help to attain the universal health coverage in the country.

He said this in Abuja at the weekend during the integrated national mobile/field hospital initiative for humanitarian intervention and social response project/partnership outreach meeting.

Director, Community Development Service and Special Projects, Abdulrazaq Salawu, noted that corp members in relevant medical fields were usually posted to rural communities within a local government area during their one-year youth service.

He described as unfortunate, the deplorable condition of health service in the rural areas which, according to him, has made it difficult for rural dwellers to have access to proper health care.
