Unidentified gunmen have abducted two individuals, Babangida Dan Rimin Wunti and Saleh Jange, from the Gumau community in the Toro local government area of Bauchi State,wikkitimes report.

Reports indicate that these armed individuals invaded Gumau in the early hours of Saturday, firing shots into the air to create fear and facilitate their mission without encountering any resistance from the residents.

An anonymous resident from the area expressed concern that kidnapping incidents are resurfacing in the region, despite previous successful efforts by security forces to combat kidnappers.

In response to these developments, Dabo Ismail Haruna, the Member Representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, strongly condemned the recent kidnappings in Gumau, Bargan Fulani, Salarma, and Fishere communities. In Bargan-Fulani and Fishere communities, reports indicated that an unidentified person killed both a woman and a man.

The lawmaker extended his sympathy to the victims and offered prayers for their safe return. He also assured his constituents of swift legislative actions to address and prevent such unfortunate incidents.

Dabo commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir for maintaining peace in the state and called for the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to the Toro communities in order to apprehend the criminals responsible for these actions.

As of the time of this report, attempts to contact Ahmed Wakil, the spokesperson for the Bauchi Police Command, were unsuccessful. He neither answered phone calls nor responded to a Short Message Service (SMS).
