Governor Dauda Lawal is determined to put an end to the ongoing issue of banditry in Zamfara State. The governor made this commitment during his visit to the training camp of the Community Protection Guards (CPG), an initiative launched by his administration to counter banditry in the state,leadership reports.

In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, it was highlighted that the ongoing training of the Community Protection Guards has injected optimism and assurance into the fight against insecurity in Zamfara.

The governor emphasized the rigorous selection process for the recruitment of the Community Protection Guards, with 300 individuals chosen from each of the 14 local government areas in the state.

Governor Lawal expressed his confidence in the ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and stressed the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring peace in Zamfara. During his visit, he was quoted saying, “I am here today to witness the progress of the newly recruited Community Protection Guards (CPG) training. I urge all recruits to wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to the training, as the task ahead is significant and requires sacrifice for our motherland. Through our collective efforts, we will overcome the security challenges facing Zamfara State. I am impressed with what I have seen at the training camp; it has heightened my optimism, and I believe our rescue mission is on the right track, ensuring a brighter future for Zamfara.”
