Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi, formerly the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), has officially resigned from his esteemed position, as confirmed by Energy News Africa.

The precise motivations underlying Engr. Fadeyibi’s choice to relinquish his responsibilities are presently undisclosed.

According to a communication disseminated by AEDC and observed by this source, the announcement reads: “We wish to formally inform you that following a meeting with the Board and EMT [Executive Management Team] earlier today, it has been officially communicated that our esteemed MD/CEO, Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi, has tendered his resignation, effective from yesterday, subsequent to ratification during the board meeting.”

Engr. Fadeyibi assumed his role in May 2022, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the power sector, having previously held the position of Managing Director/CEO at Eko Electricity Distribution (EKEDC). His impressive 20-year career in the industry further underscores his expertise.

Following his departure, the AEDC Board has nominated Mr. Christopher Ezeafulukwe, the current MD/CEO of Transcorp Energy, as his successor. This seamless transition has been formally introduced to the organization’s workforce.
