Former President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to lend their support to leaders at every level of governance during this critical phase of the nation’s democracy. Speaking in Daura after participating in the Eid prayer yesterday morning, Buhari extended his congratulations to Muslims on the successful conclusion of the Ramadan fast and the observance of Eid,leadership reports.

In a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari encouraged “all citizens to back our leaders, from grassroots to the highest echelons of power, in their endeavors to enhance the developmental landscape of our nation.”

He emphasized that supporting leaders is an investment in a brighter future.

Similarly, former Head of State General Abdulsalam Abubakar urged Nigerians to intensify their prayers for the nation to overcome its challenges. Speaking to journalists after Eid prayers in Minna yesterday, Abubakar emphasized the importance of prayer in addressing the various challenges facing the nation.

He specifically urged the Muslim community to embrace the teachings of Islam and to demonstrate compassion and solidarity with one another.

The Sultan of Sokoto and president-general of the National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, advised the Muslim community to pursue knowledge to strengthen their faith. In his Eid message in Sokoto, Sultan Abubakar highlighted the significance of continuous prayers for the nation’s leaders and the prosperity of Nigeria.

He emphasized the need for gratitude towards Allah for the gift of life and good health, as well as for the observance of Ramadan and Eid celebrations.

In his sermon, Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abu-Nolla, urged Nigerians to reject violence, promote peaceful coexistence, and maintain faith in the leadership of the country.

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) called for more effective public policy responses to address the deteriorating living standards in the country. The forum emphasized the need to learn from the lessons of Ramadan and to address challenges such as inflation, unemployment, and insecurity.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, and the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Umar Garbai Elkanemi, led thousands of Muslims in Maiduguri to observe Eid prayers. In a sermon, Imam I’daini of Borno, Shettima Mamman Saleh, encouraged Muslims to fast six days in the month of Shawwal, highlighting the spiritual benefits.

In an interview, Shettima urged Nigerians, especially Muslim faithful, to pray for President Tinubu and the federal government’s success, assuring them of efforts to address economic challenges.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani urged citizens to uphold peace and progress in the state, emphasizing the importance of the virtues and lessons of Ramadan.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, commended the efforts of the federal and Kaduna State governments, as well as security operatives, in maintaining peace in the state.
