The Sokoto Command of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) carried out a successful operation resulting in the arrest of 23 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud at Bafarawa Estate in Sokoto metropolis,leadership report.
According to information from the EFCC’s zonal office in Sokoto, the operation extended beyond Bafarawa Estate to the Kalkalawa area in Sokoto state. This expansion was prompted by intelligence-driven observations and thorough surveillance, which indicated that these young men were living extravagant lifestyles without any legitimate sources of income.
As a consequence of these findings, the EFCC operatives swiftly apprehended the suspects while investigations into their activities continue.

The individuals arrested in the operation include: Joy Ofem, Azeez Naimot, Ibrahim Amadu, Aigbekan Daniel, Adedayo Michael, Imran Mubaraq, and Oliyide Habeeblah.
Additional names on the list of apprehended individuals are: Wasiu Lukman Adekunle, Musa Abdulaziz, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Adejoh Nebiu Muhammad, Ibrahim Mubarak, Ahmed Ibrahim Abdullahi, Abdullahi Sanusi Adejoh, and Umar Idris.
The list also comprises: Muhammad Nuhu, Faisal Ahmed, Aliyu Ismail, Elijah Adebayo, Abubakar Bashir, Zakariya Ibrahim, Balogun Abdulayyan, and Buni Husaini.
During the operation, various items were confiscated, including a 2009 Red Corolla Sport, a 2015 White Corolla, 16 different laptops, a generator, 30 assorted mobile phones, and 2 MTN routers.
The source has indicated that once the ongoing investigations are concluded, the suspects will be promptly charged to court.
