The Bayero University, Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA) recently conducted elections, which took place on Wednesday, December 16, in Kano State. During the event, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, a 1987 alumnus of the institution, delivered a keynote address,Daily Trust reports.

The election results ushered in Alh. Shuaibu Idris Mikati as the president of the association, with Aare Akinwumi Akinyemi as Vice President I and Ahmed Abdulkadir Firdaus as Vice President II. Alh. Salisu Indabawa secured the position of Secretary General Asst, Ma’aruf Zakariya as Sect. Gen I, and Mairo D Suleiman as Asst. Sect. Gen II. Safiya Stephanie Musa emerged as the Financial Secretary.

Additional elected officials include Internal Auditor Amb. Adamu Babangida, Treasurer Lawal Ali Gujungu, Social Welfare Mustapha A. Dawaki, Legal Adviser Barr. Saidu Tudunwada, and Publicity Secretary Mukhtar Zubairu Surajo.

Ex-Officio positions were filled by Dr. Bala Muhammad (North West), Alh. Ibrahim Idris Danisan Fika (North East), Aliyu Emu Yusuf (North Central), Joseph Adewale Rannaiye (South West), Olorogun Oyibo Adejero Mohammed (South South), and Lawrence Juwah (nominated) for South East.
