The Borno State government has registered 124,000 vulnerable individuals impacted by insurgent activities into the healthcare system across challenging local government areas in the state,Daily Trust report.

Dr. Saleh Abba, the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA), revealed to Daily Trust in Maiduguri yesterday that the agency’s goal is to extend enrollment to 250,000 vulnerable individuals affected by conflicts.

Emphasizing the focus on well-being, he explained that the initiative ensures that each Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) receives adequate funding tailored to their specific needs, particularly in the hard-to-reach communities around Lake Chad.

Dr. Abba highlighted that the enrollment includes vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, all benefiting from the free healthcare scheme.
