The Agro-Climatic Resilience In Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) management has recognized Bauchi State as the leading implementing state among those benefiting from the project nationwide,leadership reports.

This multi-million dollar initiative, funded by the World Bank, aims to address climate change-related challenges affecting agriculture and food security.

Dr. Ibrahim Kabir, the state coordinator of ACReSAL, announced this achievement during a one-day capacity-building workshop on land degradation in Bauchi. He highlighted Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s proactive stance by appointing a senior special adviser on ACReSAL, indicating the high priority placed on ACReSAL’s endeavors.

Kabir emphasized Bauchi’s significant challenges with land degradation and urged local stakeholders to collaborate in tackling this issue for the collective welfare of the populace. Additionally, he outlined plans for large-scale land restoration efforts to reclaim valuable lands lost to degradation under the ACReSAL program.
