The People Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi has constituted 31 committees for State Assembly elections that would go down to the grassroots to solicit and canvass for support ahead of the forthcoming general elections, Daily Post can report.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the committee’s inauguration in Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed said he is very confident with the calibre of people selected to serve in the committees.

He said the committees are saddled with the responsibility of going to everyone, every polling unit across the 20 LGAs to talk to the people as well as solicit their massive votes for the PDP to have a second term in the administration in 2023.

Governor Bala stated, “I’m very confident and optimistic that our party will become victorious after the general elections coming 2023 in the state and the country at large”.

Also speaking, the state PDP chairman, Hamza Koshi Akuyam said the party sat with stakeholders at various levels to strategize and kick-start the preparation of electioneering campaigns in the state, expressing optimism that the party would come back to power in Bauchi, and equally sweep all other elective seats across the country.

He explained that the party has scrutinised and painstakingly selected the committee members who possessed great qualities in their various constituencies, including winners and losers of the last primary elections across the state.

The chairman stated that as INEC is going on scientific voting in the general elections, the PDP as a party in Bauchi will also adopt a scientific method of campaigning in the state.

The PDP deputy director of campaign operations, Abdulrazaq Nuhu Zaki earlier told journalists that the party divided the consultations into three categories with the first being the State Assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as the Governorship and Presidential election respectively.
