The House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Enugu Federal Constituency, for the 2023 elections, Mr Ejikeme Omeje, has died in an auto crash.
Omeje, a pharmacist, died on Tuesday in car accident along Eden Ani/Nsukka Road, near El-Rina Hotel, Nsukka.
Eyewitnesses said the crash occurred when he was coming back from Edem-Ani town after a political meeting.
PUNCH Metro gathered that he was driving alone along Erina-Edem Ani Road when he suddenly lost control as his car entered the bush and hit a tree.
An eyewitness, Okechukwu Ezeme, said Omeje was rushed to a hospital, where he died due to the injuries he sustained in the head.
The secretary of the party in the state, Mr Robert Ngwu, confirmed the death of Omeje.
He said, “I can confirm that he is dead but what killed him is what police are investigating.”
