Miss Florence Vandi, an employee of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ADPHCDA) stationed in Girei Local Government Area, has tragically taken her own life following the demise of her boyfriend,leadership reports.
According to sources, Florence, a resident of Viniklang, chose to commemorate Christmas with her late boyfriend, Nuhu Boniface, who passed away in her care while undergoing treatment.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed in a statement that the 22-year-old woman ended her life on December 12, 2023, by ingesting a substance believed to be the poisonous “otapiyapiya.”
Nguroje mentioned that the police received a report indicating that Florence Vandi had taken her own life shortly after her boyfriend, Nuhu Boniface, passed away during medical treatment.

“Further investigation revealed that Florence, up until her demise, served as a Health Worker attached to the Girei Primary Health Care Centre,” Nguroje added.
Expressing his sorrow over the incident, Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola advised the public not to take matters into their own hands and encouraged them to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to the police.
