The abducted Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Mr. Safiyanu Isah Andaha, and three other individuals taken by suspected bandits have regained their freedom following the payment of a N10 million ransom,Daily trust report.

Earlier reported by Daily Trust, the council chairman and his friend, Adamu Custom, along with two others, were kidnapped on Monday night along the Akwanga-Andaha road.

According to a close associate of the chairman, who chose to remain anonymous, the victims were released behind an outdated filling station on Bayan Dutse road, located on the outskirts of Andaha town, on Tuesday night around 9 pm. The source confirmed that a ransom of N10 million was paid for their release.

The source further revealed that the council boss shared his harrowing experience of humiliation by the abductors in the bush with one of his close friends.

After their release, the freed individuals were swiftly taken to Custom’s residence in Andaha. Shortly thereafter, the chairman and some of the victims, accompanied by a robust security team, were transported to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Keffi, for necessary medical attention.
