Unknown assailants brutally murdered an elderly couple, Adebola Ezekiel, 80, and his wife, Abiodun Ezekiel, at the Apo Legislative Quarters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja,Daily Trust reports.
The tragic incident occurred around 11 pm on Monday when the couple was discovered lifeless in their apartment in the Apo area, having been viciously attacked by unidentified perpetrators. Adebola Ezekiel, confined to a wheelchair due to his age, along with his wife, had their throats slit by the assailants.
According to reports, the couple’s son became alarmed when his repeated attempts to contact his parents went unanswered. He alerted a security guard in the vicinity, who subsequently forced entry into the apartment, only to find the victims lying in a pool of blood.

FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway. She revealed that the distress call came from the Estate Manager of Zone D 1st gate, Apo Legislative Quarters, reporting that Seun Ezekiel, the couple’s son, had raised concerns about his parents’ unresponsiveness. Upon investigation, the bodies of Adebola and Abiodun Ezekiel were discovered with their throats slit by unidentified individuals.
The Commissioner of Police visited the crime scene, directing the Criminal Investigation Department to launch a discreet investigation. Further details regarding the case will be provided as the investigation progresses.
