A tragic traffic accident occurred on Friday night at Oke-Nigbin along the Omu-Aran-Ilorin Road in the Irepodun local government area of Kwara State, claiming the lives of eight individuals. The incident involved a collision between a trailer and a Mitsubishi bus,leadership reports.
The Kwara State command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the fatalities in a statement released on Saturday. Sector Commander Stephen Dawulung, through the sector public relations officer, Busari Basambo, conveyed the details, stating, “A fatal road traffic crash occurred on Friday evening at Oke Onigbin along Omuaran-Ilorin Road, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, around 7.40 pm. The accident involved a Mack trailer and a Mitsubishi bus.”

“Preliminary investigations by our personnel revealed that the Mitsubishi space wagon (enroute to Ilorin) collided with an oncoming Mack trailer while overtaking a bus. This resulted in the tragic death of eight individuals on the spot—comprising one male adult, three female adults, and four children—while six others sustained various degrees of injuries.”
