In the early hours of Friday, a truck heavily laden with mangoes collided with a mosque situated in Barade House, across from the Old Licensing Office in Kontagora, Niger State,Daily Trust reports.
According to sources from Daily Trust, the accident occurred just after worshippers had dispersed following their Tahajud prayers. The mosque was filled to its capacity, as it was within the last ten days of Ramadan, a time of increased attendance for prayers.
Reportedly, the section of the mosque affected by the collision was where women and children typically gathered for the Tahajud prayers. The truck, which had departed from Bida in Niger State and was en route to Sokoto with four passengers, veered off the road due to the driver dozing off.

The impact of the collision caused one of the parked cars outside the mosque to be pushed onto the veranda.
Yahaya Suleiman, a resident, recounted that the incident occurred shortly after worshippers had left the vicinity, sparing lives but causing damage to the mosque.
Thankfully, there were no casualties among the five occupants of the truck, including Mustapha Sokoto, who was asleep at the time of the collision. Despite the chaos, none of the passengers sustained injuries, though Mustapha found himself lying on the ground upon waking up, unaware of the events that had transpired due to his slumber.
