President Bola Tinubu, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi came together on Sunday in Rome for the installation mass of Pope Leo XIV,Daily Trust reports.
According to reports, Fayemi noticed President Tinubu seated among other dignitaries and invited Obi to join him in paying their respects to the Nigerian leader.
Upon approaching the President, Fayemi broke the ice and said, “Mr. President, welcome to our church, and thank you for honouring the Pope with your presence.”

President Tinubu replied with a smile, “I should be the one welcoming you and Peter. I’m the Head of the Nigerian Delegation.” His remark drew laughter from Obi, who responded in agreement, “Yes, indeed. We are members of your delegation.”
Both Obi and Fayemi are devout Catholics and hold the title of Papal knights.
