In a statement released on Thursday by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu characterized the demise of the revered religious leader as a profound loss that extended well beyond his immediate community. He emphasized that it was a loss felt throughout the entire nation due to Sheikh Giro Argungu’s significant contributions to Islamic scholarship and his renowned advocacy for moral integrity.
President Tinubu highlighted that Sheikh Giro Argungu’s voice would be remembered for years to come, thanks to his dedicated efforts in propagating Islam and promoting virtuous living.

He acknowledged the pivotal role the cleric played within the Islamic group, JIBWIS, where he served as the Working Committee Chairman and guided numerous Muslim youths over the years.
