President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), for being honored with the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership,leadership reports.
Dr. Adesina now joins the esteemed ranks of past recipients of this award, which includes distinguished figures such as Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, and legal scholar Chief Afe Babalola, SAN.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu lauded Dr. Adesina’s visionary efforts to revolutionize agriculture across Africa, ensuring food security on the continent. He highlighted Dr. Adesina’s groundbreaking initiatives in Nigeria’s agricultural value chains during his tenure as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
