Bayero University Kano (BUK) has declared the suspension of all ongoing undergraduate examinations and other academic activities for the 2022/2023 academic session,Daily Trust reportst
This decision, as outlined in a statement signed by the university’s Acting Registrar, Amina Abdullahi Umar, is a response to the nationwide strike initiated by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The University Management has instructed all students to remain calm and await further instructions. The statement emphasized that the ongoing examinations are midway, and once the strike concludes, the examinations will resume.
In alignment with the strike, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had also instructed its members to participate. The strike is a protest against the reported assault on NLC President Joe Ajaero, allegedly perpetrated by the Nigerian police and the Imo State government.
