The Senate has initiated an investigation into the financial records of 774 federal agencies, prompted by the concerns raised against them in the 2019 report of the Auditor General for the Federation,Daily Trust reports.
Senator Aliyu Wadada, Chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee (SPAC) representing Nasarawa West on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Friday.

He emphasized that the committee’s objective is not to target individuals but to fulfill their duties diligently in the nation’s best interest. Additionally, Wadada revealed plans for the 10th National Assembly, with the support of President Bola Tinubu and other key stakeholders, to amend the 2007 Procurement Act to prevent financial irregularities proactively.
Wadada urged leaders and heads of government institutions at all levels to uphold self-discipline and integrity in their duties. He emphasized the committee’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.
