Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called upon parastatals and agencies within the state to continually enhance their quality management systems in delivering services. Speaking yesterday at a one-day parley with heads of agencies, parastatals, and government-owned companies organized by the state’s Parastatals Monitoring Office, Sanwo-Olu also urged these entities to explore innovative avenues and embrace cutting-edge solutions to optimize their financial capacities,leadership reports.
Addressing the event themed “Transforming Parastatals/Government-owned Companies into Agile Organizations for Greater Efficiency,” held at the state’s secretariat, the governor emphasized his belief that adequate funding would be made available for timely and effective implementation of crucial projects benefiting the populace if agencies perform optimally.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized collaboration to build a Lagos that promotes inclusivity, sustainability, and prosperity for all residents, aiming to establish a legacy of excellence and progress for future generations.

He highlighted the critical role of parastatals in addressing specific developmental challenges directly impacting people’s welfare such as waste management, water supply, housing, and transportation. The success of any administration, he noted, significantly hinges on the efficiency and effectiveness of these agencies in fulfilling their mandates.
Acknowledging unprecedented global challenges, Sanwo-Olu stressed the need for innovative approaches to enhance government revenue. He underscored the importance of accountability and transparency, urging full cooperation with the Parastatal Monitoring Office to uphold established protocols and standards, which are essential for promoting good governance and building public trust.
In his welcome address, the Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support and leadership, which had facilitated progress for Parastatals and Government-Owned Companies. He described the gathering as an opportunity for heads of these entities to engage with the governor on crucial issues aimed at enhancing operations for the state’s advancement.
