The nationwide strike called by the Labour Union has left thousands of passengers stranded at airports across the country. Aviation unions, including the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP), and National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), affiliated with either NLC or TUC, have joined the strike. On Sunday, they directed their members to cease services at airports starting from midnight on Monday,Daily Trust reports.

Reports from Daily Trust indicate that as early as 6:00 am on Monday, union members blocked all entrances to the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) in Lagos, preventing passengers from reaching their flights.

This has caused widespread flight delays and cancellations across the country. As of now, no flights have departed from either the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) or the MMA2 private terminal. Passengers are stranded as access points to the airport remain blocked,
