Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Africa’s wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote, convened with President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). According to Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the meeting, held in Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC, aimed to explore how the country could leverage the expertise of one of Africa’s most prominent investors, Dangote,Daily Trust reports.
Akinyemi stated that besides Dangote’s visit to congratulate President Tshisekedi on his re-election, he also provided updates on the progress of the DRC-Nigeria Business Council. He quoted Obasanjo as describing the meeting as cordial, focused on extending felicitations for President Tshisekedi’s re-election and acknowledging the quality of the inauguration ceremony. Furthermore, Obasanjo informed the President about the advancements made within the DRC-Nigeria Business Council framework.

Additionally, Dangote expressed his intention to make substantial investments in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), emphasizing the importance of obtaining President Tshisekedi’s endorsement for his endeavors. Dangote highlighted his plans to invest in the mining and agricultural sectors of the Central African nation.
