Engr. Nnanna Anyanwu, Managing Director of Oilserv Limited, stated that Nigeria’s economy will significantly benefit from increased domestic natural gas usage for power generation and as a feedstock for gas-dependent industries,Daily Trust reports.
Anyanwu made this statement following the commissioning of three major gas infrastructure projects. He highlighted that leveraging Nigeria’s abundant gas resources will accelerate the nation’s modernization.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned the expansion of the AHL Gas Processing Plant in Kwale-Delta State, the ANOH Gas Processing Plant, and the 23.3km ANOH to Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Custody Transfer Metering Station Gas Pipeline Projects in Ohaji-Egbema, Imo State.

Tinubu emphasized that the federal government is committed to using Nigeria’s ample gas resources to foster industrial growth and economic prosperity.
Speaking with journalists at the event, Anyanwu expressed pride in Oilserv’s substantial contribution to Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy, in line with the nation’s ‘Decade of Gas’ initiative.
Anyanwu underscored that the completion of the Assa Process Treatment Facility, the OB3 CTMS, and the extensive export pipeline demonstrates Oilserv’s dedication to project timelines, safety, and high standards of quality and excellence.
He said, “Oilserv has not only enhanced our infrastructure capabilities and technical expertise but also bolstered our global competitiveness. Importantly, this project delivers substantial value to our clients.”
However, he criticized the lack of sufficient infrastructure to fully harness Nigeria’s vast gas resources and expressed confidence that the federal government, through NNPCL, will pursue additional key gas projects to benefit the country.
