Yesterday, it was revealed that the Kano State Government has lodged an eight-count charge against the former governor of the state, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, alleging, among other infractions, the receipt of $200,000 from a contractor.
Despite attempts made by Daily Trust to reach out to the Attorney-General of the state, Haruna Dederi, no response was received, neither to calls nor text messages.
Similarly, individuals associated with Ganduje, who currently serves as the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), did not provide any comment.

According to a charge sheet obtained by The Cable and submitted to the Kano High Court, the NNPP-led state government alleges that the act violates the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Commission Commission Law of 2008.
The defendants listed in the case include Ganduje, Hafsat Umar, Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lesaga General Enterprises.
Furthermore, the state government accuses Ganduje of receiving a kickback of $210,000 from individuals and entities involved in or seeking contracts or projects under the Kano State Government, specifically related to the remodeling of the Kantin Kwari textile market, purportedly as a bribe through a contractor (agent).
Despite denials from Ganduje and his associates, who claim the allegations are based on doctored videos aimed at tarnishing the former governor’s reputation, the legal proceedings continue.
