The military high command has announced the completion of its long-awaited investigation into the bombing of innocent citizens in Tudun Biri village, Igabi LGA of Kaduna State. They revealed that two Nigerian Army officers implicated in the incident will face court-martial proceedings, emphasizing that the operation should never have taken place,Daily Trust reports.
Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, made this disclosure during an ongoing press briefing at Defence Headquarters, Abuja. The incident, a drone bombing mistake that occurred on December 3, 2023, resulted in numerous casualties and injuries as residents gathered to celebrate the Maulud in Tudun Biri, Ugara, and Sabon Gida.
The Nigerian Army, taking responsibility for the tragedy, attributed it to an error. Buba mentioned that the investigation report has been submitted to the appropriate authorities, but he refrained from providing further details on the matter during the briefing.
