The Presidency has denied reports claiming that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Federal Government’s negotiating team have proposed a new minimum wage of N105,000,Daily Trust reports.
After organized labour declared a nationwide strike, the Federal Government met with union leaders and reached an agreement.
The negotiating team then briefed President Bola Tinubu, who instructed the Finance Minister to present a new minimum wage template within 48 hours.

Onanuga and his team met with the president on Thursday but did not disclose the outcome of the meeting.
Reports emerged suggesting that Edun’s team proposed a N105,000 minimum wage.
In response, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, dismissed these reports as false.
“The Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has not proposed a N105,000 minimum wage. The contrary story being disseminated is false,” Onanuga tweeted.
