Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State is determined to defy expectations of weakness attributed to his adherence to the presidential peace pact, which he considers an honest decision. Addressing members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) from all 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers during their visit to Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara highlighted the misconceptions surrounding his implementation of the peace initiative,Daily Trust reports.
Acknowledging the comments he has received regarding the peace initiative, Fubara emphasized his silence thus far as an act of maturity and wisdom. However, he deemed it necessary to clarify the situation, explaining that the intervention by the President in the state’s political crisis resulted in a political solution agreement, which he has been diligently implementing out of respect for President Tinubu.
Despite his compliance being misconstrued as weakness by some political actors, Fubara assured that if this perception persists, he will take decisive action to prove otherwise. He emphasized the importance of his respect for authority and adherence to agreements, while also expressing gratitude for the support shown by the people.
